BadgeBase in October 2026: top streamers, category pages and Hype Train emotes
Changelog ยท 2026-10-17 ยท Updated: 2026-10-17
In September it was all about how you reach me and what you can take into your own stream. October started with a move, and still BadgeBase has grown in these weeks like it rarely has: the site now knows the biggest streamers in the world, every game category and every Hype Train emote. Here is what has been added so far. Last updated: 17 October.
๐ Moved, and everything is running again
At the beginning of October I moved house, and the computers behind BadgeBase moved with me. For a few days the chatbots, the stream and burning channel points for XP were offline, while the website kept running. By now everything is back. Thanks for your patience!
๐บ The 100 biggest Twitch channels, with a profile
New is the top streamers list: the 100 most watched Twitch channels worldwide, sorted by hours watched over the last 30 days, with average viewers, peak and followers. Every name leads to the profile with all of the channel's Twitch badges. On top of that, the profiles are gradually getting a short fact sheet: who is behind the channel, the most common questions, numbers from the last 30 days and a source. New climbers into the top 100 get theirs automatically.
Since these channels rarely collect badges on BadgeBase themselves, their profiles now show 16 similar streamers instead of achievements: from the same category, in the same language and with a similar rank. That way you quickly get from one big channel to the next one that might interest you.
๐ฎ Every category has its own page
Every Twitch category that ever had a global badge now has its own page under /category/, 140 of them at launch. Each page explains what the game is about, which badges there were and are for it, each with its time window, and who is streaming the category live right now. The badge pages link to their category, and so do the badge texts. That way you get from one badge to everything else from the same game. One example is League of Legends, where two badges are running right now for Worlds.
Along the way, the links to Twitch categories also lost a bug: for games whose Twitch address differs from their name, such as Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds or Dragon's Dogma II, they led to an empty page. Now they are always correct. Thanks to jmythex for the tip!
๐ Hype Train emotes get their own page
Hype Train emotes were the topic with the most changes in October. The Halloween set Stream-o-ween shows up in your profile as soon as you have unlocked it. Emotes that only come from a high train level have a golden frame, so the rare ones stand out right away. Next to your Hype rank, "Refresh" now reads your emotes in again directly, without the detour through the settings (thanks to pugmatt15 for the feedback). And what you are still missing is shown greyed out: the level rewards up to level 126 and the current set.
The biggest part came last: every Hype Train emote now has its own page under /e/, for example one click away from your profile. It shows how to get it, which set it comes from and when it was available, going back to the very first set from 2020, plus everyone on BadgeBase who owns it. For the level rewards, it says which record train they belong to. Thanks to isaquenader for the idea!
๐ Pumpkins instead of eggs
Until 31 October, pumpkins instead of eggs are hidden all over the site. You can catch up to five a day, and with 100 you get the new achievement Pumpkin Hunter. After Halloween the egg hunt comes back.
๐ข How many people really have a badge
On every badge page there is now a second, smaller number below the collectors: how many people own the badge on Twitch according to PotatBotat. The big number is still the collectors on BadgeBase, and when you hover over either one you see where it comes from. The number is updated daily.
And when a campaign ends earlier than announced, that now appears in a red box at the very top of the badge text. The first time this was needed was for Vaultbreakers, whose campaign the developers stopped after one week. The new Pokรฉmon badges also have a graphic of the whole evolution chain, so you can see what turns into what.
๐ Gifter of the Month
The subscribers page now shows the top 5 gifters of the current month on my main channel, right above the all-time top 60. The first three automatically get their own role on my Discord, Gold, Silver and Bronze Gifter, with the month in the name. The roles move with the leaderboard every hour. In case of a tie, the total number of subs someone has ever gifted decides, so there are no shared places.
๐ Plus goal on stream
The stream overlay now shows my progress toward the Twitch Plus program. Every sub you pay for yourself moves the bar forward, so you can see your share in it. Gift subs and Prime subs don't count for Plus. That is Twitch's rule.
๐ Discord: Alerts you can switch on and cards with buttons
Your settings now have Discord Alerts. If you switch them on, you get the Badge Alert role on my Discord and get pinged for new badges and go-lives. I added an extra notice in #claim when you are still missing a badge shortly before it ends, but switched it off again after a few days: it caused too many mass pings.
New changelog entries and blog articles now appear on Discord as proper cards with a summary, preview image and a "Read more" button. Changelog cards also have "Upvote": one click takes you to the entry and casts your ๐ directly. New followers of BadgeBaseDE get their own welcome card at night, just like on the main channel, anyone on the cape leaderboard automatically gets the cape role, and the buttons in the drop cards open the matching campaign directly in your Twitch drops dashboard.
๐ค A tidier profile
On desktop, your badge count now sits large in the top right of your profile, Reload is a small icon next to Settings, and you find Log out in the settings. Your
badges and paints are right below the achievements. Under Other Badges, the chat clients Moltorino (thanks to ich_klau_gratis_brot for the suggestion) and Limerino have been added. The settings have been reordered: language, E-Mail Alert, Discord Alerts and notifications are at the top, below them the profile toggles in the same order as the sections on your profile. And the LIVE tag on the profile picture now disappears as soon as the stream is over, instead of staying up for hours.
๐ฅ Streak protection with some leeway
If your sub on my main channel runs out and you renew it a few hours later, a check-in during that gap no longer breaks your streak. Streak protection now applies for three more days after a sub ends.
๐ง Smaller fixes
If you had changed your Twitch name, chat hours were sometimes credited twice, on some days 48 instead of 24. That is fixed, I have deducted the extra hours retroactively, and the lurk leaderboard is correct again. The map in the arcade game Geo only showed "API key required" because the old map service now demands a key. A new, colorful world map is running now. Thanks to imnotme__0 for the tip!
๐ Goodbye YouTube and TikTok
The BadgeBase channels on YouTube and TikTok were a cool experiment, but I am not continuing them. I am focusing on the places where you already are: Discord and Twitch. That is where new badges, drops and streams show up first.
๐ฐ On the blog
The overview of all October badges is now the longest one so far, with the ten Pokรฉmon evolutions, Worlds 2026, Castlevania, Dragon's Dogma, Enshrouded, Edgerunners and Modern Warfare 4. What went on at Twitch itself is in the September recap. As always, every single change is in the changelog.
What comes next
Plenty of badges are still running until the end of the month, and the most important deadline is 25 October: by then you need the sub for the Night Out Pokรฉ Ball that Gastly hatches from. On 31 October the pumpkin hunt ends. Ideas and bugs are welcome via support, in the backlog or on Discord.
