BadgeBase in September 2026: support, shorts and widgets for your stream

In August BadgeBase got a level that ties everything together. September is about everything around it: how you reach me, how you find a badge in time, and what you can take into your own stream. It is only the tenth, and the month already has more to show than most. Here is what landed so far. Last updated: September 28.

๐ŸŽซ Support tickets, and they feed the backlog

Support finally has its own place: badgebase.de/support. Sign in, pick a category, write. You get a ticket number, my reply lands in your inbox with a button straight back into the conversation, and the whole thread sits on one page. If a ticket waits on you for a while, it reminds you and eventually closes itself.

Tickets are also where a lot of good ideas show up, so they now feed the product backlog. If a ticket contains a suggestion, I can move it over with one click. It appears as a Support Ticket, without naming who wrote it.

๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ A backlog you can actually read

The backlog itself got tidier. Open ideas, implemented ones and declined ones each have their own section now, with jump links at the top, and you can sort by newest or by most upvoted. New ideas sit on top instead of drowning below everything that already has votes. When I turn an idea down, my reason is right underneath, so nobody has to guess.

๐Ÿ“บ A short for every badge

BadgeBase is on YouTube: youtube.com/@BadgeBaseDE. Every new badge gets a short explaining what it is, how to get it and how long you have. Where a video exists, it also sits right on the badge page, for example on Mouseathon or Onimusha Armament. Subscribing to the channel counts as an entry in the giveaway.

๐Ÿงฉ Widgets for your own stream (Alpha)

A lot of you stream yourselves, and many asked for something to put into your own scene. The first version is live on badgebase.de/widget: a badge tile with Watch or Sub / Gift, your own badge collection, a live timeline of the running badges, a countdown to the next one and the full overlay with your channel name on top. Paste the address into OBS as a browser source and you are done. It is still an alpha, so tell me in Discord what you actually need.

โฑ๏ธ Badge times straight from Twitch

Start and end on every badge page now link to the Twitch Drop campaign they come from. I read those campaigns every five minutes, and since September 8 they also write back: when Twitch quietly moves a campaign, the badge page follows within minutes instead of keeping the numbers I once typed in. It caught its first moved campaign on the very same day.

๐Ÿ”ด #claimed or #missing, right on the badge

Every badge page now ends its tag row with one more chip: green #claimed if your favourite profile already has the badge, red #missing if it does not. Same colours as the archive and /missing/, so a colour always means the same thing.

๐Ÿฎ Watch the collectors roll in

A badge's feed now shows new claims live as they happen: whoever grabs the badge pops in at the top without a reload. On short event badges like MOOtivation, which was open for exactly six hours, you could spot yourself in the list seconds after claiming.

๐Ÿค– The chat bot talks like a person

Ask the bot about a badge in the badgebase_de chat, say with !pichu, and you get a proper sentence instead of a string of bullet points, including whether the drop is running and how many people have it. New on top: !countdown names the next badge that starts and how long until then, or the closest deadline if nothing new is coming.

๐Ÿ‘‘ More VIPs, and a second channel with its own board

VIP grew twice this month: first from the top 30 to the top 50 gifters, then to 60 slots after Twitch raised the limit. The rule stayed the same: top gifters with an active sub get the VIP badge on Twitch and Discord plus the VIP achievement. The second channel BadgeBaseDE now has its own subscriber page with a goal bar and a gifter podium, its own follow achievement and 30 VIP slots of its own.

๐Ÿ… Achievements: some out, some in, and quieter

A few tiles had outlived their purpose. Reactor, Sub Veteran, Bits Whale and Diamond Master made room for Wuestenigel Sub, BadgeBaseDE Sub and two tiers for burnt channel points. The comment achievements got untangled first and were retired altogether at the end of the month, more on that below.

And one fix you will not see, only stop hearing: rank achievements like Top 50 used to celebrate every single time you climbed back over the line, with a Discord ping, a chat message and another +1000 XP line, even though your XP never actually changed. Now an achievement is only celebrated the first time. Thanks to MizukiHarro for reporting it, which earned them the Bug Hunter achievement.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Change the stream with channel points

Three new channel point rewards on badgebase_de: Let it snow, Let it rain and Let it burn. They cost 1001 points each and change the stream overlay for five minutes. Only one runs at a time, and they count as burnt points just like Burn for XP, so you still get XP for them.

โšก Faster, and fixing itself

Some of the work this month is invisible on purpose. Twitch delivers its events without a guarantee, and when one went missing, so did the XP for a cheer, a gifted sub or a burn. BadgeBase now checks those against Twitch every few minutes and repairs the gap itself. Profiles, the feed and the leaderboards are prepared in the background, so a page that used to take up to four seconds opens right away. And a few numbers that disagreed with each other now match: XP and level everywhere, the lurker rank from the bot and the achievement holder counts.

๐Ÿ”— Renamed accounts keep their history

If you renamed yourself on Twitch, you used to end up with a second, empty profile here while your badges stayed behind under the old name. Opening the old address now moves your badges, check-ins and streak across to the new one.

๐Ÿ“Š Discord: a daily report and Twitch news

At midnight a card now lands in Discord summing up the day: subs and followers, average viewers, visitors on badgebase.de, new logins and new Discord members. New English articles from the official Twitch blog show up there automatically too, a few minutes after they go live.

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ More ways into the giveaway

Following BadgeBase on X, following Wuestenigel on Instagram and subscribing on YouTube now each count as an entry in the weekly Turbo giveaway. Those run on trust, because none of these platforms lets me check someone else's follows without asking you to log in there as well.

๐Ÿงน Goodbye, provisional badges

The provisional badges, previews shown before Twitch officially rolled a badge out, are gone for good. In the end they caused more confusion than they were worth. BadgeBase now only shows badges that really exist.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ No more "429 Too Many Requests"

Mid-month some of you ran into 429 Too Many Requests, sometimes after only a few clicks. That message was not from BadgeBase but from my host: when the server is briefly overloaded it turns everyone away, you included. Since September 14 the site therefore runs behind Cloudflare. Every request first lands in a data centre near you, images and finished pages come from there, and my server only sees a fraction of the traffic. I have not measured a single 429 since. In the same pass, profiles with lots of emotes load completely again, before that the last rows simply stayed empty.

๐Ÿ”’ A pen test and what it changed

xLiiesa volunteered to probe BadgeBase for weaknesses and sent me a detailed report. The important points are done: sign-in and sessions are hardened, and hidden profiles are now genuinely hidden. No share image, no widget, no year in review, no comparison, no feed and no calendar gives them away. The report earned the Bug Hunter achievement, and my thanks along with it.

๐ŸŽ Numbers that add up again

When an event from Twitch goes missing, a number here goes missing with it, and that showed up on the gifters: one person had 12 instead of 16 gifted subs, another 1 instead of 7. The counter now checks itself against Twitch regularly and quietly corrects itself. Two more fixes: First Claim no longer goes to Twitch staff and test accounts, who often have a badge days before it starts, and your Hype Train emotes refresh themselves instead of waiting for a button that silently did nothing once your login had expired.

๐Ÿ‘พ Discord: cards instead of lines of text

Three things at once. /badges now answers with your profile card instead of a line of text, and whoever looks you up that way earns you the Card Sharer achievement. Share a badge link anywhere and, since September 18, Discord builds a card of its own from it: free or paid, collector count, claim rate, start and end in your own timezone, the first collector, and a button to the badge page. /subs is new as well, with the subs of both channels, the biggest gifters, the records and a curve of the last 90 days. /badge went the other way and got shorter: facts and the official description stay, the long text lives on the badge page rather than in chat.

๐Ÿ“ฌ Several badges, one email

Four new badges used to mean four emails back to back, saying nearly the same thing. Badges that start or end at the same time now go out as a single message. The four PAYDAY badges arrived as one mail, with all four images and one shared deadline. Nothing changes about your settings in the Badge Alert.

๐Ÿ… The second-channel achievements are back

Mid-month I retired BadgeBaseDE Follow and BadgeBaseDE Sub to focus on the main channel. Since September 19 both sit in their old spot again, giveaway ticket included. Nobody lost anything on the way: I pulled the 1,288 old unlocks back out of the backup with their original dates, and anyone who has unfollowed since keeps the tile anyway.

๐ŸŸฉ Kick, properly this time

The second half of the month belonged to Kick. Every Kick badge now has its own page under /k/ with the picture, the drop window and who wears it here, starting with World of Warcraft Forever. You no longer tick your Kick badges by hand: enter your Kick name in the settings and BadgeBase reads your badges and your level straight from Kick once a day. Typing !sync in the chat on kick.com/wuestenigel refreshes you right away, and the bot answers with your rank.

That rank comes from the Kick leaderboard, which is back with checked accounts only. New Kick badges now trigger the Badge Alert just like Twitch ones. Two achievements came along: Kick Collector for three Kick badges and Kick Sub for a sub on Kick. And whoever has linked Discord and Kick gets the Kick role on our Discord automatically, still as a beta.

๐Ÿงฅ Minecraft capes on your profile

A lot of you collect more than Twitch badges, so capes got their own section. Tick the Minecraft capes you own in the settings and they show up on your profile right under Other Badges. Every cape has a page under /c/ with the picture, how it was earned and who wears it here, from Migrator to the new Dungeons II capes Hero and Twisted. The capes leaderboard only lists accounts that added a NameMC or laby.net profile, because that is where anyone can check the claim.

๐ŸŽ All Twitch Drops on one page

The new drops page lists every Twitch Drop campaign that is running or coming up, with the ones that bring a global badge on top. Badge pages link their start and end dates there. Behind it, the matching got smarter: CONTROL Resonant came with two badges in one campaign and a name that matched neither, so campaigns are now also linked through their game category.

๐Ÿ”ด Who is live, right on the badge

For badges tied to specific channels, the badge page now shows which of them are streaming at this moment, with picture, name and viewer count. It started with WSCI 2026 and the tournament's 85 channels. Paid badges say that a sub is what counts, free ones say watching is enough, and once a badge has ended the section disappears on its own.

๐Ÿ” Timeline, feed and profile

The timeline has a third tab called Missing: log in and it hides everything you already own, so what is left is exactly what you can still go and get. In the feed, hovering over "3 minutes ago" shows the exact second, handy for the first-claim race, and claims whose real time nobody knows are now marked "time unknown". Profiles got jump links at the top to achievements, other badges, capes, 7TV and Hype Train, and under your name there are now two dates: when you joined Twitch and when you first logged in here.

๐Ÿ… New achievements, and a few goodbyes

Six new tiles this month. Tier 3 Sub goes to anyone with a Tier 3 sub to badgebase_de, and Twitch adds the GIF keyboard in chat on top. Decathlon is for ten fresh badges on a single day, each claimed within a week of its start. Kick Collector and Kick Sub came with the Kick work. And at the very end: Chiller for hanging out in my own chat at twitch.tv/wuestenigel, 10 XP per hour like the Lurker, and 420 Hours in Chat for the ones who stay. Who hangs out the longest is on the new wuestenigel lurk list.

To make room, Friend Circle, Polyglot, First Blog Comment, Late Claimer, Commenter and Badge Calendar are gone. The wall still has 100 tiles.

โ˜€๏ธ Let it shine

Next to snow, rain and fire there is now a sun for the stream overlay on badgebase_de: a round sun in the corner, slowly turning rays and a lens flare across the picture. You trigger it with the channel points reward "Let it shine", and like the others it counts toward your XP. The idea came from the community.

๐Ÿ”” Discord: a channel for alerts, and more to share

New badges found, badges going live and new Kick badges now post in their own badge alerts channel, and only there does the Badge Alert role get pinged. The main channel keeps its quieter notes without a ping. In the share channel, /badges got a second option: pick Kick, 7TV or Minecraft Capes and you get an image card of that collection, with your rank on the matching leaderboard.

โœ‰๏ธ Fewer mails, never twice

Two mail types are gone: "new in the archive" and the "ends in six hours" reminder. What stays is the go-live mail for badges I have checked, the weekly mail, the streak saver and the giveaway and team reminders. On the way I found out why some of you got every mail twice: a renamed Twitch account had left its old name behind with the same address.

๐Ÿงน One person, one profile

That renamed-account problem went deeper. Old names kept their badge count and sat on the leaderboards next to the new ones, the same person twice. I merged all 578 affected accounts, and a daily run keeps it that way. Thanks to lasertecevents for the report, which earned the Bug Hunter achievement. Two more fixes from the same week: a profile no longer comes back empty when Twitch times out on a refresh, and profiles that were not cached no longer showed a 404 as if the account never existed. New Twitch Partners worldwide now get their profile on the day they make Partner, not only German ones.

๐Ÿ“ฐ In the blog

The monthly overview of all September badges kept growing until the end, most recently with CONTROL Resonant, Rematch Blue Lock, d20 and Ampersand, Big Walk, ACE COMBAT 8 and the real dates of the ATLUS set. What happened on Twitch itself this month, from the vanished "Following Since" to the end of featured clips, is in the September recap. The changelog has every single change as it happens.

What's next

SUBtember ends on October 1, and a lot of badges carry over into October, from the PAYDAY masks and the ATLUS set to Dungeons & Dragons and ACE COMBAT 8. One thing to plan around: from around October 8 I am moving house, and the machines behind BadgeBase are moving with me. For a few days many automations will be offline, such as burning channel points for XP and the chat bots. The website, Discord and the stream keep running. Details are in the announcement. Ideas and bugs go to support or Discord.
