About Anomaly: Warzone Earth
Anomaly: Warzone Earth is a real-time strategy game by the Polish developer 11 bit studios, published by Headup Games. It was released on 8 April 2011 for Windows and Mac OS X and later ported to iOS, Android, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and BlackBerry 10.
The game reverses the usual tower defence formula, which critics called "tower offence". Parts of an alien spacecraft have crash-landed in cities such as Baghdad and Tokyo, creating anomalies that disrupt radar and satellites. You lead an armoured squad, plan its route through the city, buy and upgrade units and support them with the Commander's abilities while alien towers fire at them.
The iOS version reached a Metacritic score of 94, and the OS X version won an Apple Design Award in 2011, according to Wikipedia. The sequel Anomaly 2 followed in 2013.
