About Battlefield 6
Battlefield 6 is a first-person shooter published by Electronic Arts and developed by Battlefield Studios, a group made up of DICE, Criterion Games, Motive Studio and Ripple Effect Studios. It was released on 10 October 2025 for PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X/S. The free-to-play battle royale REDSEC followed on 28 October 2025.
The campaign is set in 2027 and 2028 and follows the squad Dagger in a conflict between a weakened NATO and the private military company Pax Armata, with missions in places like Gibraltar, Cairo and Brooklyn. The focus of the game is large-scale multiplayer with four classes (Assault, Engineer, Support and Recon), returning modes such as Conquest, Breakthrough and Rush, and the user-created content mode Portal.
EA reported more than 7 million copies sold in three days, the biggest launch in the series. The multiplayer was widely praised while the campaign drew criticism, as Wikipedia summarises.
