About Borderlands 4
Borderlands 4 is a first-person looter shooter with role-playing elements, developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K. It was released on 12 September 2025 for PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X/S and is the fifth main game in the series. A Nintendo Switch 2 version was announced but later put on hold.
The story takes place on the planet Kairos, six years after Borderlands 3. A new team of Vault Hunters, Rafa, Harlowe, Amon and Vex, arrives to find the planet's Vault and confronts the Timekeeper, the dictator who rules Kairos with his Order, as well as the Rippers, a bandit army. You can play alone or in co-op with up to four players, and later expansions added C4SH and Loveless as playable characters.
Reviews were generally favourable, although many critics mentioned performance problems. According to Wikipedia, it was the third best-selling game of 2025 in the US.
