About Crimson Desert
Crimson Desert is a single-player open world action-adventure game developed and published by the South Korean company Pearl Abyss, known for Black Desert. It was released on 19 March 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Windows and macOS, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version planned for early 2027 (Wikipedia).
You play Kliff, a member of the Greymanes, on the high fantasy continent of Pywel. The game runs on Pearl Abyss's own BlackSpace Engine and combines combo-based combat, magic and mounted fights with large boss battles, including dragons. Outside of combat the world offers fishing, cooking, crafting and hunting.
Reviews were generally favourable, with a Metacritic score of 77. Critics praised the combat and the world while criticising the story and controls. The game sold more than 2 million units in its first 24 hours and over 6 million by June 2026.
