About DayZ
DayZ is a multiplayer online survival game developed and published by Bohemia Interactive. It began as Dean Hall's mod for Arma 2 and became a standalone game, entering early access on Steam on 16 December 2013. The full release followed on 13 December 2018 for Windows, then 2019 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and April 2026 for Xbox Series X|S (Wikipedia).
In fictional countries such as Chernarus, Livonia and Sakhal, a plague has turned most of the population into infected. You scavenge for food, water, weapons and medicine, avoid or fight the infected and decide how to deal with other players. Vehicles, crafting, base building, farming and hunting add to the long-term survival loop.
The alpha sold over 2 million copies within months, and Steam saw a peak of about 78,700 concurrent players in September 2024. The expansion Badlands with the map Nasdara Province is scheduled for 15 October 2026.
