About Fallout 76
Fallout 76 is an online action role-playing game by Bethesda Game Studios, published by Bethesda Softworks. It was released on 14 November 2018 for Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and is played entirely online.
The game is set in Appalachia, West Virginia, in 2102, 25 years after the nuclear war. You emerge from Vault 76 to resettle the wasteland, alone or with other players, building camps, completing quests and fighting mutated creatures. Later regions such as Skyline Valley extend the map.
At launch, reviews were largely negative, pointing to technical problems and the lack of human NPCs. The free Wastelanders update in April 2020 added human characters and factions and was received far better. According to Wikipedia, the game had 17 million players by March 2024, and the Amazon Fallout series pushed it to a record of one million logins in a single day.
