About Ghost of Yōtei
Ghost of Yōtei is an action-adventure game by Sucker Punch Productions, published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was released on 2 October 2025 for PlayStation 5 and is a standalone successor to Ghost of Tsushima.
The game is set in 1603 in Ezo, today's Hokkaido, around Mount Yōtei. You play Atsu, a mercenary hunting the Yōtei Six, a group of renegade samurai led by Lord Saito who killed her family sixteen years earlier and left her for dead. Because she survived, people start calling her the onryō, a vengeful spirit. Sucker Punch worked with Ainu cultural consultants during development.
According to Wikipedia, the game sold about 3.3 million copies within a month and scored 86 on Metacritic. It won Adventure Game of the Year at the D.I.C.E. Awards. The free multiplayer mode Legends followed on 10 March 2026, with two-player story missions and four-player survival matches.
