About Hollow Knight: Silksong
Hollow Knight: Silksong is a Metroidvania developed and published by the Australian indie studio Team Cherry. It started as a planned expansion for Hollow Knight (2017), funded as a Kickstarter stretch goal in 2014, and grew into a standalone sequel. After years of waiting it was released on 4 September 2025 for Windows, macOS, Linux, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
You play Hornet, a key character from the first game, who is captured and brought to the kingdom of Pharloom. From there she fights her way up towards the Citadel, moving faster and more acrobatically than the Knight did. The launch overloaded several storefronts, and more than 500,000 players were active on Steam on day one. Critics gave it universal acclaim, with Metacritic scores between 90 and 94, according to Wikipedia.
