Kingdom: New Lands

Kingdom: New Lands is a 2D side-scrolling strategy game with roguelike elements, developed by Noio and Licorice and published by Raw Fury. It is the follow-up to Kingdom (2015) and was given to existing owners of the original as a free update. It launched on 9 August 2016 for Windows, macOS and Xbox One, later followed by iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch and, in January 2018, PlayStation 4.

You ride as a monarch, recruit villagers, give them jobs as builders or archers and spend coins on walls and tools. Every night the kingdom has to hold off the monsters known as the Greed, and if they steal your crown, the run is over. Progress comes from repairing a ship and sailing across five procedurally generated islands. Critics praised the pixel art and soundtrack, with an 87 on Metacritic for Xbox One, according to Wikipedia.
