About Palworld
Palworld is a survival and monster-taming game developed and published by the Japanese studio Pocketpair. It entered early access on 19 January 2024 for Windows, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, came to PlayStation 5 in September 2024 and later to macOS. The full 1.0 release followed on 10 July 2026.
On the open-world Palpagos Islands you catch creatures called Pals and use them in combat, for base building and for automated work around the base. Unlike most games of its kind, it also includes firearms. You can play alone or on multiplayer servers with up to 32 players.
The early access launch was one of the biggest on Steam, with more than 2.1 million concurrent players on 27 January 2024 and over 32 million players across all platforms by February 2025. In September 2024 Nintendo and The Pokémon Company sued Pocketpair in Tokyo over a patent related to its catching mechanic, according to Wikipedia.
