About Persona 5 Royal
Persona 5 Royal is an enhanced version of the 2016 role-playing game Persona 5, developed by P-Studio and published by Atlus in Japan and Sega elsewhere. It came out for PlayStation 4 in Japan on 31 October 2019 and worldwide on 31 March 2020. Versions for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S followed on 21 October 2022.
A transfer student known as Joker leads the Phantom Thieves of Hearts in modern Tokyo. By day he attends school and builds relationships, at night the group enters the Metaverse to steal the corrupted desires of adults from their hearts. The cat-like Morgana acts as their guide. Royal adds a new Phantom Thief, Kasumi Yoshizawa, a new Palace, the Kichijoji district, a playable third semester and a storyline around the counsellor Takuto Maruki.
With 95 out of 100 on Metacritic it scored higher than the original, and Royal had sold 8.66 million copies by June 2026, according to Wikipedia.
