About Pokémon Legends: Z-A
Pokémon Legends: Z-A is an action role-playing game developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. It was released on 16 October 2025 for Nintendo Switch, with an enhanced version for Nintendo Switch 2.
The game takes place entirely in Lumiose City in the Kalos region, five years after Pokémon X and Y. Battles run in real time instead of turns, so the positions of trainer and Pokémon and the timing of moves matter, and Pokémon can dodge attacks. Mega Evolution returns, powered by Mega Energy collected in battle, and Rogue Mega Evolutions play a part in the story. The three starter Pokémon are Chikorita, Tepig and Totodile.
The game sold over 5.8 million units in its first week and about 12.3 million by the end of 2025, according to Wikipedia.
