About Pokémon UNITE
Pokémon UNITE is a free-to-play multiplayer online battle arena game developed by TiMi Studio Group, a Tencent subsidiary, and published by The Pokémon Company. It launched on Nintendo Switch on 21 July 2021, followed by Android and iOS on 22 September 2021, according to Wikipedia.
Two teams of five Pokémon face off in matches that usually last ten minutes. You grow stronger by defeating wild Pokémon, scoring goals in the opposing team's zones and knocking out opponents, and the team with the higher score at the end wins. There is no type system as in the main series; instead every Pokémon has its own powerful Unite Move.
The game joined the Pokémon World Championships in 2022 and has its own competitive circuit with regional events and a world final. It passed 200 million downloads across all platforms by July 2024 and won the D.I.C.E. award for Mobile Game of the Year.
