About REMATCH
REMATCH is an online football game by Sloclap, the French studio behind Sifu, published together with Kepler Interactive. It launched on 19 June 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and was available on Xbox Game Pass from day one (launch announcement, Wikipedia).
Instead of steering a whole team, you control a single player in third person and switch freely between attacking, defending and goalkeeping. Matches are played 3v3, 4v4 or 5v5, with a ranked 5v5 mode. There are no fouls, offside, throw-ins or goal kicks: the pitch is enclosed by walls, so the ball never leaves play.
The game had 3 million players within its first days and won Sports Game of the Year at the 29th D.I.C.E. Awards, while reviews criticised server problems at launch.
