About The Surge
The Surge is an action role-playing game in the demanding style of Dark Souls, developed by Deck13 Interactive and published by Focus Home Interactive. It was released on 16 May 2017 for Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (Wikipedia).
The setting is a dystopian future of resource shortages and mass unemployment. Warren, a wheelchair user, starts work at the tech giant CREO, but the fitting of his exoskeleton goes wrong and he wakes up in a facility overrun by malfunctioning machines and workers. Combat lets you target specific enemy limbs and cut off armour or weapons with a finisher, then use the parts to build your own gear. The story revolves around CREO's Project UTOPIA and has two endings. A sequel, The Surge 2, followed on 24 September 2019.
