Titan Souls

Titan Souls is a top-down 2D action-adventure game by the studio Acid Nerve, published by Devolver Digital. It was released on 14 April 2015 for Windows, OS X, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, with an Android version following on 30 June 2015 (Wikipedia).

The game began as an entry for Ludum Dare 28 in 2013, where it won first place overall, and was then rebuilt and expanded. The hero carries a single arrow and dies from one hit. The arrow must be charged, fired and then retrieved, and you can only shoot while standing still. The whole game consists of boss fights against 20 giant Titans, each of which has one weak spot or method to defeat it, so learning their patterns is the core challenge. It is often named as an early example of a Soulslike in 2D.
