About Rainbow Six Siege
Rainbow Six Siege (Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege) is a multiplayer tactical shooter developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It was released on 1 December 2015 for PlayStation 4, Windows and Xbox One, with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions arriving on 1 December 2020 (Wikipedia).
Matches are round based: attackers scout with drones and breach, while defenders reinforce walls and set traps. Each player picks an operator from real counter-terrorist units such as the SAS, GSG-9 or GIGN, each with a unique gadget. Walls, floors and ceilings can be destroyed, so routes and sight lines change constantly, and there are no respawns within a round. With the Siege X update on 10 June 2025 the game became free to access, with ranked play kept for owners of a paid edition (TheSixthAxis). The Six Invitational is its biggest esports event.
