Windrose

Windrose is a pirate survival adventure developed by Kraken Express (formerly Windrose Crew) and published together with Pocketpair Publishing. It launched in Early Access on 14 April 2026 for PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store and Stove, and the Steam page plans an Early Access period of 1.5 to 2.5 years.

Set in an alternative age of piracy, it mixes crafting and base building with souls-lite melee and firearm combat, boss fights and hand-crafted dungeons in a procedurally generated world. At sea you customise ships, fight naval battles and board enemy vessels, and crew members can share a ship's weapons. Other systems include NPC recruitment, faction reputation, trading, farming and fishing. It can be played solo or in online co-op, with parties of up to four recommended (RPG Site).
