How to get the Twitch DJ Badge
Twitch DJ is a global Twitch badge for members of the DJ Program, which Twitch launched in June 2024 as the first offering of its kind in the industry. How do you get it? Join the program as a DJ: it lets you legally live-stream most popular music, backed by agreements with Warner, Sony, Universal and hundreds of other labels, with no fear of takedowns or bans.
The deal has a price: part of the channel revenue goes to the artists whose music is played, and for most streamers Twitch splits those costs 50:50. Program DJs cannot keep VODs, clips or highlights, but get the official DJ category and new discovery surfaces in return. Participation is optional and can be ended at any time.
With roughly 180 holders on BadgeBase it is a true role badge: it marks active program DJs, not viewers, and stays as long as they take part. Like the Staff badge it signals a role rather than an action; the rarest badges ranking shows how uncommon such badges are.
