About ELDEN RING
Elden Ring is an action role-playing game by FromSoftware, published by Bandai Namco Entertainment and directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki. It was released on 25 February 2022 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. George R. R. Martin contributed worldbuilding and the backstory of the setting.
The game takes place in the Lands Between, where the demigod children of Queen Marika fought over the shards of the shattered Elden Ring. You play a Tarnished, an exile called back to restore the Ring and become Elden Lord. The open world, freely explorable on horseback, combines the hard combat of the Souls games with far more freedom.
According to Wikipedia, it won more than 300 Game of the Year awards, including The Game Awards 2022, and sold 30 million copies by April 2025. The expansion Shadow of the Erdtree followed in June 2024, the multiplayer spin-off Nightreign in 2025.
