About Marvel Rivals
Marvel Rivals is a free-to-play third-person hero shooter developed and published by NetEase Games in collaboration with Marvel Games. It launched on 6 December 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and Windows, and a PlayStation 4 version followed in September 2025.
Two teams of six heroes and villains from the Marvel universe fight over objectives on maps with destructible environments, with cross-play between platforms. A notable mechanic are Team-Ups: certain heroes gain extra abilities when a related character is on the same team. The game reached 10 million players within 72 hours and passed 50 million by mid 2026. Critics praised the fact that purchases do not affect gameplay, according to Wikipedia.
